A Word About Life and Things

Choose

        Our Creator made us and we are wonderfully made. He also gave us free will. While in Bible college we had one guy who asked God ’should he get up in the morning or should he tie his shoes? He may have been a little extreme but he also had the right attitude. We make 100’s of choices every day.

      When Moses sent the 12 spies to go into the promised land to spy, 10 of the spies came back and said that “we were like grasshoppers in our own sight”. The people of Israel chose to believe the 10 spies and not Caleb, who said “we are well able to overcome”.

      We make choices every day, big choices and little choices. We ask God to help us make a big choice when we buy a house or a car. But we should also ask Him in the little things to guide us in everything we do. What does God want from us? He wants a relationship; He wants to help us in everything we do the big things and the little things.

      When God says to choose this day whom you will serve, to make NO decision or choice is the same as making a choice. God does not choose if we will go to heaven or not the choice is ours to make. God has already made provision for us to go to heaven and that is through His Son, Jesus. God will not make us do anything He just says “come.” Whether we go to heaven or not is our choice. We just have to choose.

Deuteronomy 30:19 "I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

Joshua 24:15 Ά "And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
