A Word About Life and Things

The Thinker

Everything in life begins with a thought. An architect thinks of a building and then he puts the design on paper. An Inventor thinks of a new thing and he starts to build it. Our thoughts are what we are. They can be good thoughts or evil thoughts.

Many people say that they can multitask. But that is not true. When we do anything we have to focus on that one thing. Yes, we can go from one job to another but we have to change focus to that one thing that we are doing. When we listen to a TV or Radio and then focus on the job that we are doing the background noise fades away. We can only focus on one thing at a time. Some states have passed laws that say we cannot use our hands while talking on our cell phones. But that is not the problem. The problem is that while talking we can lose focus when we are concentrating on our conversation, especially if we are in a heated argument. We lose the focus we need to operate a vehicle. Every sin begins with a thought. We think about the sin before we commit to doing it. Every thing begins with a thought.

The wrong thoughts will come, but we do not have to dwell on them. God tells us to think about things that are true, noble, just, pure, and lovely. Think about these things and not the wrong things.  God knows our hearts and our thoughts. We are what we think about.
