A Word About Life and Things

The Potter’s Wheel

The potter throws a lump of clay onto the wheel and begins to shape it. It does not look like much while he is working on that lump of clay. But as time goes along the lump of clay starts to take shape. The more he shapes the clay the better it starts to become something that looks beautiful. Then that clay is put into an oven at a high temperature. When he is finished , what was just a lump of clay has become a beautiful piece of pottery.

When God is testing us, we feel the same as that lump of clay. We are molded and shaped on all sides. We go through many things we did not see coming our way. We lose a loved one, a friend does us wrong, we go through many things that we don’t like. God has shaken us and we don’t know why all of these things are happening to us. We are on the Potter’s wheel. We are going in circles and we are confused.

There are many things that God is working on us while we are on His Potter’s wheel. He is changing us, forming us, making the good things to come out and taking away the things that are not needed. He is making us into something that He can use in the future. He is changing our habits, our prospective of life, the way we do things and our trust in Him. We are going through many things we don’t like, but through it all we still trust Him and we are in His hands. He is making us into a stronger person so we can do what He has put in our heart. We will become beautiful in its time.

      New King James Version
Jeremiah 18:3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and there he was, making something at the wheel.
4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.
5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying:
6 "O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?" says the LORD. "Look, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!
