A Word About Life and Things

Sowing and Reaping

Esau and Jacob were twins, with Esau the first to be born and Jacob coming second from the womb holding Esau’s heel. Jacob’s name means supplant, or to deceive. Jacob gave Esau a bowl of stew in trade for his birth right. Jacob deceived Issac and received the first born’s blessing. While serving Laban he received back from Laban more than he had given to his parents. Laban changed his salary 10 times. But in the end he left Laban a rich man. On his journey back to his own country and to his brother Esau, he had wrestled with an angel all night and said to the angel, that he would not stop until the angel blessed him. The angel asked him his name, he said “my name is Jacob.” The angel said, “from now on you will be called Israel.” Israel means, “Prince with God.”

When we sow seeds we will always receive a lot more than what we sow. If we sow bad seeds we will always receive more bad things than we have sowed. The same goes for sowing good seeds, we receive back many times over than we had sowed. This is a law that God has given to us. This is true of everything in life. A farmer sows seeds of wheat, corn, and rice, and he receives many times more that he had sowed. These three crops are 87% of the worlds harvest. The same goes for us, whatever we sow will come back to us, many times more than what we have sowed. We cannot sow discord in God’s house, without receiving back a harvest of hate and disruption. We can sow good things into God’s house and receive a harvest of blessings.

The same goes for our tithes and offerings. God said to bring the tithes and offerings into His house and we will be blessed. The tithes is the first 10% of our earnings. Offerings are what we want to give. God said if we sow sparingly we will reap sparingly. He also said if we sow bountifully we will reap bountifully. Do not stop your sowing. We need to sow bountifully, and our God will give us a harvest we cannot contain.

      New King James Version
Job 4:8 Even as I have seen, Those who plow iniquity And sow trouble reap the same.

      New King James Version
Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

      New King James Version
2 Corinthians 9:6 Ά But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

      New King James Version
Malachi 3:8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, `In what way have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings.
9 You are cursed with a curse, For you have robbed Me, Even this whole nation.
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.
