A Word About Life and Things

Peace in the Valley

There was a young lady who lost her father to an illness. They were very close and had spent a lot of time together. She was so heartbroken by something she never saw coming. She could have became bitter and let that loss ruin the rest of her life. She still believed that God was still in control. It was not easy, but she kept moving forward. Everyday that young lady texted her father telling him what went on that day, what she was feeling. It was her way of staying close to her father. She told him how she overcame cancer, how she had finished college, how she had graduated with honors. Not just the good things, but about the boyfriend that had broken her heart, some other things that had challenged her. For a long while she thought she was doing this to help herself heal and move forward. On the forth anniversary of her father’s death, the young lady received a response from the number she had been texting. She had thought it was no longer working. The text read, my name is Brad, three years ago I lost my daughter in a car accident. Your text everyday has been keeping me going. He went on and told her how proud he was of her. How proud her father would be. The young lady said that was a sign that everything was OK. She could let her father rest in peace. Today she is moving forward and doing great things.

When we pick someone to marry we get married and what was two persons is now one. We say our vows to our spouse but also to God. God ordained marriage and sanctified it. When we lose a spouse, whether to a divorce or death we feel like we are being torn apart. We have lost someone who was a big part of our life. The same goes for our kids. They should never die before their parents. When we lose one of them our world is almost destroyed. We put a lot of hopes and dreams into our kids and it is devastating to loose one of them. The same goes for our parents. They have been with us all of our lives, and then they are gone. All of our loved ones will be with us in eternity, if they have put their trust in Jesus. There are many valleys that we go through. But our God is always with us. We do not have to fear the enemy of our soul. Our God restores us and lifts us up. He will take care of us.

       New King James Version
Psalms 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.
