A Word About Life and Things

Offenses

Offenses come to us from every direction. Someone cuts us off in traffic, your spouse says something that bothers you, our kids back-talk to us, a customer is having a bad day and takes it out on us, and many other things spoil our day. Some people leave a church because someone has offended them. It is how we deal with these offenses that says something about us. We can get mad and take it out on our family, or let it go so that we are the better person.

The Bible says that offenses will come, but we should not pass on the offense to others. If our friend tells us of an offense we should not take up that offense to ourselves. It is bad enough that our friend was offended but if we take it to ourselves then we are offended and it gets into our spirit and we may sin. The world is filled with offenses for everything under the sun. People are offended because we do not accept their lifestyle. Others are offended because of what the Bible says about sin. People blame others for the way that they themselves feel.

Offenses will come but we do not have to accept them. We let those offenses go on by us. We can ignore them or we can turn them over to the Lord. We should turn everything over to God because He is our defender he will take care of the one that is giving the offense. We continue on and have a peaceful day. We Praise His Holy Name, for He is Lord.

      New King James Version
Romans 5:15 But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.
