A Word About Life and Things

 The Judge

In the not too distant past, our Judges were God-fearing men and women that passed judgment on people by the laws of the land. Today many Judges are passing judgment based on their political beliefs or based on the laws of other nations. God said to take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the Lord, who is with you in the judgment.

We are all Judges in one way or another. We judge people based on the clothes they wear, the way they talk, the way they comb their hair or the color of their skin. If we gossip about anyone, we are judging them by the words we speak. It is so easy to talk about someone else and not see the flaws in ourselves. God talks about seeing the speck in someone else and not seeing the plank in our own eye.

We are not on this Earth to be judges, we are here to do the will of our Heavenly Father. To reach out to others and lead them to Jesus. We are not to judge anyone. We have not been given that authority. Only God is the Judge of all mankind. God will judge everyone, and His Judgement begins first in His House. The first to be judged are Preachers and Teachers. Are we teaching God’s Word or are we teaching what people want to hear? God’s Judgement is based upon His Word. Our God is a Just God and His Judgement is True. Will we submit ourselves to Him and the salvation that He has provided? Jesus is our Savior and Lord. He is the only way to get into heaven. Jesus is our Advocate between us and the Father.

      New King James Version
2 Chronicles 19:6 and said to the judges, "Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment.
7 "Now therefore, let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes."
8 Moreover in Jerusalem, for the judgment of the LORD and for controversies, Jehoshaphat appointed some of the Levites and priests, and some of the chief fathers of Israel, when they returned to Jerusalem.
9 And he commanded them, saying, "Thus you shall act in the fear of the LORD, faithfully and with a loyal heart:
10 "Whatever case comes to you from your brethren who dwell in their cities, whether of bloodshed or offenses against law or commandment, against statutes or ordinances, you shall warn them, lest they trespass against the LORD and wrath come upon you and your brethren. Do this, and you will not be guilty.

      New King James Version
Luke 6:42 "Or how can you say to your brother, `Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother's eye.
