Gifts and Talents

        Our politicians stay in business because they are always saying that something bad is going to happen. They keep saying that the oceans are rising because of global warming. They say that the other political party wants to take away your social security. They may as well say that the sky is falling like Chicken Little. People are always saying something bad is going to happen so that they can get your support.

      We forget that our God is in control of this world and the entire universe. There is no such thing as perpetual motion. The earth is rotating at approximately 1,000 miles an hour and is going around the sun at approximately 500,000 miles an hour. Our earth would eventually start slowing down if God did not have His hands on it at all times. He is the one who keeps our earth rotating and keeps it at the same distance from the sun.

      As for global warming, our God is still in control. He controls the ocean and has placed boundaries so that it cannot go any further than He says. He keeps the oceans in their place by the tiny grains of sands on our beaches.

      We have nothing to worry about; our God is in control. We just need to place our trust and hope in Him. We don’t have to be afraid of all the chicken littles in our lives because our God is for us and He will take care of us.

Jeremiah 5:22 Do you not fear and reverence Me? says the Lord. Do you not tremble before Me? I placed the sand for the boundary of the sea, a perpetual barrier beyond which it cannot pass and by an everlasting ordinance beyond which it cannot go? And though the waves of the sea toss and shake themselves, yet they cannot prevail [against the feeble grains of sand which God has ordained by nature to be sufficient for His purpose]; though [the billows] roar, yet they cannot pass over that [barrier].
